Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of tripbase.com, our personalized travel guides, and any related services (together, the “Services”) operated by Cricket Traveling LTD, a company registered in Israel (“Tripbase,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By accessing the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services. By using the Services you represent that you meet this requirement and that any information you give us is accurate.

2. Accounts

Some features require an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use.

3. Personalized guides & purchases

Personalized guides are generated for your single use based on the preferences you supply. Paid purchases are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We don’t store full payment card numbers on our servers.

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. If a guide we delivered is materially defective, contact us within 14 days at [email protected] and we’ll either correct it or refund it.

4. Travel content is informational, not advice

Destination profiles, blog posts, guides, and recommendations on the Services are produced for general informational purposes. Travel conditions change quickly — visa rules, opening hours, prices, safety situations, weather, and venue availability can all shift after we publish. Always verify time-sensitive details with official sources before booking or traveling.

Tripbase does not provide medical, legal, financial, or immigration advice. We are not your travel agent and we don’t book trips on your behalf.

5. Affiliate links and third-party services

Some links on the Services are affiliate links: if you click and complete a qualifying booking we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial picks.

Tripbase is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate Tripbase earns from qualifying purchases. Where shown, product prices and availability are retrieved from Amazon at the indicated time and may change. Book covers are sourced from the Open Library and Google Books cover APIs.

The Services may link to or embed third-party content (e.g., Viator activities, Duffel and Kayak flight inventory, Google Maps, hotel providers). Those third parties are responsible for their own services and are governed by their own terms. We are not liable for third-party content or actions.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • access, monitor, index, copy, or collect any content or data from the Services using any robot, spider, scraper, crawler, headless browser, or other automated means — or any manual process serving the same purpose — for any purpose and regardless of the amount of content involved, except through channels we expressly designate for programmatic access and subject to any credentials, rate limits, or conditions we attach to them;
  • engage in systematic or automated data collection, including without limitation scraping, data mining, data extraction, data harvesting, and bulk enumeration of pages, records, or API responses;
  • violate the restrictions in our robots.txt or any robot-exclusion or content-signal directives we publish, or bypass, disable, or circumvent any rate limit, access control, authentication requirement, or other technical measure we use to prevent or limit access to the Services;
  • take any action that imposes, or may impose, an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure;
  • frame, mirror, or republish the Services or any part of them — except that ordinary hyperlinks to the Services, and our published embeddable widgets used as documented, are permitted;
  • resell or sublicense personalized guides, account access, or paid features;
  • upload malicious code, attempt to breach security, or interfere with the Services;
  • misrepresent your identity, impersonate others, or use the Services for fraud;
  • use the Services in ways that violate applicable law, sanctions, or export controls.

7. Intellectual property and AI training

All content we publish on the Services — including written editorial, personalized guides we generate for you, the underlying data model, and the design and code of the site — is owned by Cricket Traveling LTD or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright and other applicable laws. Personal, non-commercial use is permitted. Anything beyond that requires our written permission.

No license is granted to use any part of the Services — including destination profiles, scores, editorial, guides, comparisons, and the underlying data model — as input to train, fine-tune, ground, or otherwise develop any machine-learning or generative AI model or dataset. Any such use requires a separate written license from us.

We publish machine-readable reservations of these rights, including content-signal directives and robot-exclusion rules. Those are express reservations of rights, including under Article 4 of Directive (EU) 2019/790, and are not waived by the Services being publicly accessible. Access through any programmatic channel we designate does not grant rights beyond those stated for that channel, and never includes model-training rights, which are licensed separately.

User submissions (feedback, venue suggestions, corrections) grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and adapt that submission to operate and improve the Services.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information will be accurate or current.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cricket Traveling LTD and its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions or limits; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cricket Traveling LTD from any claim or demand arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time if you breach these Terms or if continued access would expose us to legal or operational risk. You may stop using the Services at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive.

12. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The competent courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Israel have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from the Services or these Terms, except where mandatory local consumer protection law says otherwise.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be flagged on the Services or by email where we have one for you. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
