About Tripbase

Tripbase is a travel intelligence platform. We’ve been working on the destination-discovery problem since 2005, and today we score hundreds of destinations — cities, islands, ski resorts, dive sites, national parks — against a consistent rubric, then turn that data into personalized trip guides built around how you travel. The web is full of generic top-10 lists. We built something that compares places on the things that actually decide a trip.

What we do

Two layers. The first is a structured library of destination profiles and editorial guides, every one scored on the same factors — food, transit, weather, safety, value, vibe, and a dozen niche metrics for surf, ski, scuba, and more. Because the rubric is consistent, you can compare places that don’t usually share a category: Lisbon vs. Mexico City, Niseko vs. Chamonix, Apo Island vs. the Maldives.

On top of that, our engine generates personalized guides — you tell us what you’re into, who you’re traveling with, and how much time you have, and we build a guide tailored to those answers instead of recycling someone else’s itinerary.

How we work

Every destination on Tripbase is built from the same research pipeline. We ingest venue data, traveler reviews, climate and safety records, transit and visa rules, and primary local sources, then run them through a scoring engine that produces directly comparable results. Where a fact would change a decision — peak season, average cost per day, entry requirements — it’s cross-checked against first-party sources and dated, so you can see when it was last verified.

The personalized-guide layer takes that structured base and tailors it to your trip in real time. The result is travel guidance that’s specific, current, and consistent — at a scale no traditional editorial team could match.
